Resources for Infant Educarers® (RIE®)
Sponsored by ChildCare Education Institute
Oh, BABY! Infants and toddlers’ brains and capacities are on FIRE! Research shows time and time again that their development is exceptionally rapid, which means that as an infant and toddler educator you must carefully prioritize the time you spend together. Because secure attachment predicts healthy outcomes in numerous developmental domains and aspects of living, keeping attachment as the structural center of your work with children and their families can make it easier to meet the full spectrum of their needs. Join this seminal webinar by Ruth Anne Hammond, M.A. author of Respecting Babies: A Guide to Educaring for Parents and Professionals, to learn more about how weaving relationships into every learning domain can make desired results a no-brainer.
- Become familiar with the basic neuroscience of attachment, per Regulation Theory and Polyvagal Theory.
- Be able to describe how secure attachment supports cognitive, socio-emotional and physical development.
- Be ready to create environments where the adults are free to relax and enjoy being with the children, with confidence that the children will learn what they need to, with joy and curiosity that will go with them into the next stage and beyond.
All sessions are 1.5 hours long, and include a brief announcement from our sponsor.
