This webinar, presented by Rebecca Rolland, Ed.D., will offer specific, concrete strategies for nurturing children’s play and creativity through everyday conversational prompts, scaffolds, and questions. Rebecca, the author of The Art of Talking with Children, lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and an oral language specialist, will reveal why play is a key aspect of learning and development and how language plays a huge role in all types of play. In this webinar, you will take a deep dive into the different forms of play and discover how you can encourage young children’s play and development through everyday talk.

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

• Identify the key reasons that play and creativity are so powerful in young children’s development and why everyday conversation plays a critical role
• Recognize main strategies for everyday conversation to support play and creativity, including scaffolds by age and stage
• Reflect on their own strengths and challenges in encouraging play and creativity and develop a plan to enhance their abilities
