Kelly Matthews

Kelly Matthews is the Director of Family Child Care Strategy and Advancement at the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association and author of Build It Strong! How to Make Your Child Care Business Thrive from Start-up to Retirement (2024). She presents on child care business practices, pedagogical leadership, and reflective practices through her work at WECA and her consulting business, A Place For You Consulting. Kelly adjuncts with the Wisconsin Technical College System. She created an inspired and aligned curriculum for the Family Child Care Credential in Wisconsin. She earned her M.A. (Human Development) from Pacific Oaks College, with dual specializations in Leadership in Education and Human Services [sub-specialization: Teaching Adults] and Early Childhood Education. She is exceptionally proud of this learning, grounded in social justice and meaningful, contextualized practice.
