Kay Albrecht, Ph.D. is president of Innovations in Early Childhood Education, Houston, TX. Teaching in some capacity has been the bulk of Kay’s life work, beginning with her first assignment as a preschool teacher in a laboratory setting. She has continued her work with children and the adults who teach them ever since as the director of a nationally accredited program and on the faculty at 4 universities.
Dr. Albrecht is adept at pulling together theoretical information and translating it into meaningful, effective use. She authored Exchange’s Out of the Box Early Childhood Training Kits, The Right Fit: Recruiting, Selecting, and Orienting Staff (Revised Edition), published by New Horizons, co-authored the Innovations series of curriculum, and child development, and training materials for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, published by Gryphon House. Her latest book, Social Emotional Tools for Life: An Early Childhood Educator’s Guide to Supporting Strong Emotional Foundations and Successful Social Relationships, coauthored with Michelle Forrester, Ph.D., was published in 2014.
